Blackstone LaunchPad Ideathon Challenge

The Blackstone LaunchPad Ideathon provides students with an opportunity to exercise their creative problem solving skills and win $100! The Ideathon Competitions are held in the FSU Innovation Hub on Fridays from 12 PM - 1 PM and are sponsored by Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship and Blackstone LaunchPad.

6 competitions will be hosted during the Fall 2024 semester:

 

The competition will be an open floor idea pitching format. Present an innovative, impactful, and feasible solution to ANY existing problem. Solutions may include business ideas, physical inventions, services, systems, apps, etc.

International Hackathon to Rebuild Cities

An online Hackathon for students at Florida State University (FSU) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) to respond to the rise of natural and manmade disasters in the 21st century.

 

ONLINE, November 12 - 16

 

Ideal for students in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business, Entrepreneurship, Communication, Digital Media Production, Social Sciences, and Design. Application is open to ALL students! Participants will be selected based on filling the skills needs of 10 teams. Please note that teams will be formed by the hackathon facilitators based on your skills and the roles needed to form ten interdisciplinary teams.

First Generation Shark Tank

The Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship's Blackstone LaunchPad, FSU Innovation Hub and the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (C.A.R.E.) have partnered together for this competition. 

 

The purpose of the competition is for students to come up with innovative solutions addressing First Generation college student issues and concerns. 

 

You will need to come up with a solution for one of the following: 

  1. Imposter syndrome
  2. Difficulty feeling comfortable with asking for help
  3. Navigating the bureaucratic structure of a college campus (in other words, problems typically have to go through multiple offices/hands in order to get solved and that can be frustrating)
  4. Managing on-campus responsibilities with responsibilities/relationships back home
  5. Motivation/Resilience

 

Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 6th at 11:59am EST

Competition Date: Wednesday, November 6th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm EST

 

Competition Location: Innovation Hub, 142 Collegiate Loop
