Dr. Juliana Binhote is a Jim Moran Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship, Florida State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Her academic specialty is entrepreneurship, with areas of expertise in family business and the work–life interface.

She has taught courses in Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation, and Management and Organizational Behavior in the United States, as well as International Business, Negotiation, Family Business, and Family Law at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Brazil. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes real-world applications and experiential learning, which has earned her multiple teaching awards from the University of Louisville.

In addition to her academic career, Dr. Binhote is an entrepreneur with two companies in Brazil and is also a family lawyer, registered with the Brazilian Bar Association of Rio de Janeiro. She is passionate about her family, her dogs, and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset in her students.

 

Interesting and Fun Facts

Dr. Binhote adopted what she thought would be a small-to-medium dog while living in Kentucky, who turned out to be 120 pounds with Great Pyrenees genes. Her family and friends affectionately call her the “unofficial babysitter”/Tia/Auntie Ju thanks to her close bond with her godchildren, and she has acquired an impressive knowledge of children’s cartoons and baby songs.
