Baylor New Venture Competition

The John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise will host the eleventh annual Baylor New Venture Competition on March 24-26, 2022 at Baylor University's Foster Campus for Business and Innovation. This business plan and elevator pitch competition showcases collegiate student created, managed and led ventures from across the globe.

The competition provides participants with personal and professional development through industry-specific mentorship towards sustainable business plans, exclusive access to accomplished experts and fellow innovators, and a chance to compete for over $250,000 in cash prizes and vital resources.

CEO Global Pitch Competition

Apply to pitch for a chance to obtain new venture funding, up to $15,000.

CEO will select 100 collegiate entrepreneurs from an applicant list of more than 700. The 100 selected ventures will assemble an Online Startup Pitch Deck, known as a Pitch Page in a multi-phase competition.

From Sept. 23 to Oct. 25th, participants will be guided through the creation of their PitchPage while Mentors and Advisors work one-on-one with students to provide actionable feedback as they assemble a Business Profile, Conduct Due Diligence and build a solution-centered business model. On Oct 27th, CEO will announce the 20 semi-finalists selected to pitch at CEO Global 2021 in Sunny, Tampa Florida!

E-Team Grant Program

The E-Team Program supports dedicated science- and engineering-based student teams from across the nation in bringing their high-impact innovation out of the lab and into the market. Every year, we award over $700,000 in non-dilutive E-Team grants to these early-stage student science and tech startups who are on the path to launching innovations with a social, health, or environmental impact. In the past two decades, VentureWell has provided over $8M in grants to more than 550 entrepreneurial teams. Our 180+ alumni ventures have received over $122M in follow-on funding since taking part in the E-Team program.

There are three E-Team application cycles per year—with deadlines in October, January/February, and May. Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm ET on the day of the grant deadline in order to be considered. Typically, VentureWell opens the call for applications about 6-8 weeks before the deadline. Teams can begin writing their proposal narratives at any time.

International StudVent Startup Stories Contest

Student Ventures (“StudVent”) is seeking student writers and videographers (“Student Storytellers”) who wish to participate in our International Student Startup Stories Contest.

Student Storytellers must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and can be any level from undergraduate to postgraduate. Contestants must write or create a video of an original story according to the themes below. The Student Startup that is the subject of the story must also be founded and operated by students also in an accredited college or university. At least one cofounding team member must also be enrolled at a university.

Student Storytellers are also encouraged to submit photograph(s) or illustration in their written stories.

Marketplace Entrepreneurship Simulation Challenge

The Marketplace Simulation Challenge is a half-day, fast paced competition where teams compete within a simulated business ecosystem to start and manage their own businesses. You and your teammates will compete against other schools to outperform the competition and bring home the win.

The top three winning teams will receive cash prizes in the amount of $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, and $400 for third place.

Players on the top three teams will also receive certificates recognizing their placement, those in the top third of all performers will receive certificates of excellence, and all others who complete the competition will receive a certificate of completion.

Up to Us Competition

The Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) is inviting student social innovators to apply to the Up to Us Campus Competition, an annual competition that provides select teams from colleges and universities nation-wide with the training and funds to run tailored campus campaigns to educate their peers on the fiscal challenges that face the next generation. We are looking to identify students who are using their skills to make a difference!

XPRIZE Carbon Removal

XPRIZE Carbon Removal is aimed at tackling the biggest threat facing humanity - fighting climate change and rebalancing Earth’s carbon cycle. Funded by Elon Musk and the Musk Foundation, this $100M competition is the largest incentive prize in history, an extraordinary milestone.‎

This four-year global competition invites innovators and teams from anywhere on the planet to create and demonstrate solutions that can pull carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere or oceans, and sequester it durably and sustainably. To win the grand prize, teams must demonstrate a working solution at a scale of at least 1000 tonnes removed per year; model their costs at a scale of 1 million tonnes per year; and show a pathway to achieving a scale of gigatonnes per year in future.
