The Master of Science in Fashion, Merchandising, and Product Development with a major in Textiles and Apparel Entrepreneurship (MS-TAE) prepares graduates to lead, innovate, and build successful careers in the global fashion industry. Offered through the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship, this interdisciplinary program blends fashion, merchandising, product development, and entrepreneurship to equip students with the skills employers seek in today's rapidly evolving marketplace.
Through a curriculum focused on entrepreneurship, leadership, retail technologies, textile innovation, quality assurance, and research methods, students develop the analytical, technical, and strategic skills valued by fashion brands, retailers, manufacturers, and consumer product companies. Graduates gain an understanding of how products move from concept to consumer while exploring the technologies, processes, and entrepreneurial strategies that drive innovation across the fashion and apparel industry.
Whether pursuing careers with established fashion brands, retailers, product development firms, or launching their own ventures, graduates leave with the technical knowledge and business acumen needed to succeed. Career opportunities include apparel product development, merchandising, buying, sourcing, brand management, retail strategy, supply chain management, fashion entrepreneurship, and quality assurance within the textile and apparel industries.
Students in the program gain hands-on experience using industry-standard technology and specialized facilities that prepare them for careers in today's fashion and retail industries. Students have access to JMC’s Textile Testing Labs, Digital Textile Printing Lab, Body Scanning Lab, and Visual Merchandising Studio. Students also have access to the program's CAD Lab, equipped with the Adobe Creative Suite and CLO3D, allowing them to develop digital design, visualization, and product development skills using the same software trusted by leading fashion brands and retailers.
